Ghana Independence Day: Events Happening in the DMV & NYC Area
March 6 is a special day for the people of Ghana. Today makes it 66 years since the country has been independent, finally breaking away from the United Kingdom back in 1957. Ghana independence is celebrated by many with the use of carnivals, parades, food, music, and much more. Ghana is marked as one of the first Sub-African Countries to achieve independence from British Colonial powers.
